Tango Club Night

It takes a cello to tango! Experience the infusion of the cello’s warmth with the tango’s tempestuousness on what surely will be a sultry, sensuous evening to remember – who’s up for a dance? In the run-up to the festival, we watched a day's rehearsal of the Tango Club night.

Tango cellists led by tango specialist and cellist Jan Willem Troost and tango bandoneonist Carel Kraayenhof will be performing highlights from the tango repertoire – accompanying the internationally renowned dance couple Natalia Agürero and Agustín Venturino. And there’ll be a short beginner’s tango workshop in the ‘Cello Yurt’ outside on the Muziekgebouw patio for anyone looking for a quick refresher course. This will be held before the performance and before you venture out onto the dance floor!
