Ketevan Roinishvili

Ketevan Roinishvili (Tbilisi, 1987) grew up in a musical family in Georgia. From 2003, she studied at the Conservatory of Tbilisi with Tamara Gabarishvili. Thanks to Russian conductor Lev Markiz and the ‘Friends of Conservatory Foundation’ in Tbilisi, she was able to come to Amsterdam in 2008. She graduated cum laude in 2012 as a student of Dmitry Ferschtman. She went on to study with Reinhardt Latzko in Vienna and returned to the Netherlands to study with Floris Mijnders.
Ketevan won the first prize at the National Competition of Georgia (2007), performing Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto, and received a distinction at the international Dotzauer Competition in Dresden. In 2009, she won the ‘Servais’ prize at the international Servais Competition in Ghent. In 2013, Ketevan received the ‘Radio 4 studiebeurs’ at the Dutch Classical Talent competition. In 2016, Ketevan was selected for The John Adams Institute’s New Masters on Tour.
In 2019, Ketevan recorded her debut album Nana. At the 9th Cello Biënnale in 2022, Ketevan Roinishvili performed as soloist at the Opening Concert in the programme Silenzio, with the dancers of LeineRoebana.
