Francesco Dillon

Francesco Dillon (Turin, 1973) earned his degrees under the tutelage of Andrea Nannoni in Florence. He went on to follow lessons with Anner Bijlsma, Mario Brunello, David Geringas, and Mstislav Rostropovich. At the same time, he was studying composition with Salvatore Sciarrino.
In 1993, he was one of the founders of Quartetto Prometeo, a string quartet with which he has won numerous international prizes. Dillon is also a part of the Alter Ego Ensemble, an Italian contemporary music group with which he travels all over the world.
Since 2020, he has held the cello Master Course at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Firenze). He has been the Artistic Director of the contemporary music Festival Music@villaromana in Florence and has held the same position at “CastelCello” Festival in Brunnenburg since 2019.
