Orchestra
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, led by master violinist Gordan Nikolić, is a small and intimate orchestra of 25 to 45 musicians and performs dozens of times a year in Amsterdam – mainly in the Concertgebouw, but also in the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and in other concert halls in The Netherlands and abroad. Additionally, the orchestra does not shy away from less conventional venues: the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra regularly sells out Paradiso with concerts featuring 20th-Century composers such as Mahler and Stravinsky.
As a regular orchestral partner of the National Opera, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra are internationally considered two of the best opera orchestras.
