The Hebrew rhapsody Schelomo for cello and orchestra is full of stylistic elements from Jewish music. The cello, played by Gary Hoffman, represents the voice of King Solomon. The orchestra paints the world around him, the Jewish people responding to him.
One of the discoveries of the Cello Biënnale 2022 was the seldom performed second cello concerto by Kabalevsky. Kian Soltani gave an emotional performance of it and returns to accept the challenge of matching that experience.
